Friday

Got underway at 6:30.

Navigated the channel and on our way to Port Hawsbury.

Stopped the motor and sailed most of the way.....so much quieter.

Got to Port Hawksbury at 1:00. A nice man went out and brought me a timmy's coffee....that was very nice of him. Cooked up a good meal.

Thursday

Bill brought Willow to shore to have a pee before we started for the day.

Long day motoring. sun came out  few times so could sit in cockpit and read.

waves were about 2 metres

Saw some seals watching us and waving their fins

Started feeling queasy in the afternoon. had some ginger ale but didn't work so took gravol.

Bill wanted to make Canso before bed. so kept going through the night. anchored at 3:30 a.m.
as soon as we hit 30 feet. could not really tell where markers were for the passage and really tired. We had to wait for daylight
Couldn't tell where rocks were in the dark.

What we saw when we woke

Breakfast: omelet with leftover veggies and salmon    and oatmeal

Supper: Matthew kraft dinner;   Bill kiwi and peanut butter
nothing for me...a wee bit seasick

long first day

Had to motor all day. No wind. Sometimes we had the mainsail out too. Used the autopilot alot.

The  sound of the motor makes me very sleepy. So that was pretty much what I did. Matthew did the same with a lot of games on his ipadin between

Bill spent a lot of the day inside fixing things. Furnace works after a few tries. (small explosion inside it the first time)   Works good now...actually too hot when it gets going. (Unusual for me to say that)

Anchoring in Sheet Harbour at about 8:00. Supper will be very good tonight  will enjoy watching a movie after that..

Meals

Breakfast: fish and eggs     Matthew-cheerios

Lunch Cherries and chips   Matthew -only chips

Supper: vegetables potatoes, carrots, onions and broccoli.  And a can of salmon

Petrel ready to go

Wednesday June 26

We will be leaving Halifax harbour this morning.
Petrel is ready. We are all ready including Willow.

 I am exhausted.

I have been up since 6:00 yesterday morning ...now 4:00 a.m. but holding my granddaughter was worth it....I now hold the esteemed title of Memere.

And when we pull anchor I fully intend on going to bed in the cabin and sleeping a good part of the day.

Looks like showers and possibly thunderstorm as we go....oh well...I shall be sleeping.
